London Tour - January 2025

Depart from Denver International Airport (DIA) on January 9, 2025; accommodations at the Royal Horseguards Hotel, January 10- 19, 2025.

Join the Theatreworks team for a one-of-a-kind tour of London's vibrant theatre scene, featuring 10 days in London, 6 theatrical productions, insightful commentary from theatre professionals and guest speakers, and the sparkling company of other arts patrons!

Your $5750 registration includes*:

  • 9 nights accommodation at the Royal Horseguards Hotel in standard rooms (double occupancy) with full English breakfast daily. The hotel is situated on the Thames, with easy walking to Trafalgar Square, Big Ben, the South Bank, and more.
  • Tickets to 6 shows (see below for details), and several appearances from guest speakers associated with the shows. (Previous speakers include Mark Rylance, Bryan Cranston, James McAvoy, and more!)
  • Morning meetings to discuss the plays and London’s theatrical landscape with Theatreworks Artistic Director Caitlin Lowans, UCCS Theatre & Dance Professor Dr. Max Shulman, and special guests.
  • One 3-course dinner with drinks in a private dining room at the restaurant 34 Mayfair.
  • A $750 contribution to Theatreworks (along with our boundless gratitude and an “arts patron” line for your resume).

  • Caitlin Lowans (Theatreworks Artistic Director)

    Caitlin Lowans

    Caitlin Lowans is a theatre director, arts educator and community-builder, currently serving as the Artistic Director at Theatreworks Colorado Springs, the professional theatre in residence at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. Prior to Theatreworks, Caitlin came from Chicago, completing coursework for their MFA in Directing at Northwestern University, with thesis currently in process (yes, Mom, it will get done!). Prior to Northwestern, Caitlin served as the Associate Artistic Director and Director of Education at Greater Boston Stage Company (formerly Stoneham Theatre), an Equity Theatre north of Boston, as well as freelance director, teaching artist, and dramaturg in New England.

  • Max Shulman (VAPA Professor and acting Theatre Chair)

    Max Shulman

    Max Shulman is an associate professor in the Theatre and Dance Program. His area of expertise is 19th and early 20th century U.S. theater with a focus on the formation of national identity. He is the author of The American Pipe Dream: Performance of Drug Addiction, 1890-1940, with the University of Iowa Press, which traces the formation of the addict in the U.S. imaginary. He is the co-editor of Performing the Progressive Era: Immigration, Nationalism, and Urban Life, also with Iowa. His work has appeared in Modern Drama, Theatre Topics, Theatre Annual, Studies in American Jewish Literature, and on He is also a member of the Eugene O’Neill Review editorial board. Locally, he serves as the “resident contributing dramaturge” for UCCS Dramaturgy and Theatreworks.
